Police Are Still Chasing The Angkot Driver Who Hit A Motorbike Woman To Death In Cakung, East Jakarta

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) is still investigating the car owner involved in an accident with a motorbike in the Cakung area, East Jakarta.

"The owner of the (angkot) car was questioned. The owner of the car, not (the driver). The driver is closer to the owner," said East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head AKBP Edy Surasa when confirmed by VOI, Monday, February 28.

AKBP Edy said that at this time his party was still looking for the driver of the public transportation that hit the motorbike rider.

"The driver has not been arrested. If the owner has taken a statement," he said.

Although the angkot drivers are still being searched by members of the East Jakarta Traffic Unit, Kasat said his party is focusing on handling victims.

"Alhamdulillah, the compensation for the victim's maid service has been completed. The case is still being investigated. As a result of his actions, the driver can be charged with negligence," he said. Previously, it was reported that a female motorcyclist with the initials S (40) was found dead after being hit by a city transportation (angkot) on Jalan Tipar Cakung, East Jakarta, Thursday, February 24, yesterday.

AKBP Edy said the angkot was traveling from Semper to Cakung. Meanwhile, the motorbike driven by S came in the opposite direction from Cakung to Semper.

"As soon as they were on the high bridge, West Cakung, the angkot was about to overtake. Suddenly a motorbike appeared, that's where the collision occurred. It was an accident," he said.

As a result of the accident, S also bounced and died on the spot with several injuries.
