Indopol Survey: Reward Number One, Prabowo Second

JAKARTA - The electability of the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, is the highest as a presidential candidate in 2024 in a survey conducted by the Indopol survey agency. In a survey of open-ended questions to respondents regarding national figures who deserve to be Indonesia's leader, Ganjar is at number one with 16.18 percent. Following in second place, there is Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto with 15.85 percent. While the third position, Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan 14.88 percent.

"While Jokowi was only 5.28 percent, then Ridwan Kamil 4.55 percent, Sandiaga Uno (4.76 percent), Ahok (2.76 percent), and AHY (2.28 percent) and others received appreciation below 2 percent. ," said the Executive Director of Indopol Survey, Ratno Sulistiyanto, in the release of the 2024 Presidential Candidate Dynamics survey & Jokowi's Government Performance Evaluation, Sunday, February 27.

From the survey results, continued Ratno, it shows that the background of regional heads is still the public's choice in considering future national leaders, which is 23.66 percent. Next are figures with a TNI background of 21.63 percent, then intellectuals/scholars 16.91 percent. "The rest under 10 percent is the choice of the public, including the chairperson of political parties, only 4.15 percent," he said.

This survey also found that the trend of popularity, likeability, and electability in semi-open questions with 22 names of presidential candidates in 2024 showed that Ganjar Pranowo had the highest electability rate (20.49 percent) and was effective in exploiting his popularity. The second position is slightly different from Prabowo Subianto (20.33 percent), the third is Anis Baswedan (19.02 percent), where these numbers are up from the previous survey (November 2021), and the difference between the three names is already close. This survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with the COVID-19 health protocol in the period 18–25 January 2022. Sampling was done by means of multistage random sampling, where the number of respondents in each province in the territory of Indonesia was taken proportionally based on Projection of Indonesia's Population in 2020 (BPS 2020).

Determination of respondents is done randomly systematically. The criteria for respondents are those who are 17 years old or married. Respondents were 1,230 people with a margin of error of ±2.8 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent (Slovin). Respondents reflect men/women and various types of professions. The data is processed using the SPSS or Field Survey program.
