Cak Imin Claims The Proposed Postponement Of The 2024 Election Refers To Big Data

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PKB Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, claims that the proposal for the 2024 election to be postponed by one to two years has the support of many people.

This, he said, refers to the big data analysis of conversations on social media. Cak Imin explained that of the 100 million subject accounts on social media, 60 percent supported the postponement of the election while 40 percent refused. According to him, attitude has shifted from previously referring to surveys, to now turning to big data.

"Big data is starting to become a policy reference in making decisions," said Cak Imin in his statement, Sunday, February 27. He said that the change in data occurred because the survey only photographed the voices of respondents in the range of 1,200-1,500 people. Meanwhile, big data respondents, he said, could reach 100 million people.

"The pros and cons of this policy choice will continue to occur as competition heats up and the competition towards 2024," he said. The deputy chairman of the DPR admitted that the big data findings were different from the findings of the survey, which mostly stated that they did not agree with the discourse on postponing the election or adding the presidential term to three terms. But the latest political survey facts, said Cak Imin, showed satisfaction with President Jokowi's performance was high, namely 73 percent.

"Above 60 percent is called high. But it does not coincide with the approval of the postponement of the election, around 60 percent disagree and 40 percent support," he explained. Therefore, Cak Imin does not mind if there are parties who reject the proposal. Because he said, it all depends on the president and the leaders of political parties.
