Following Up On Jokowi's Presidential Instruction, Maluku Police Immediately Implement BPJS For SIM Making Conditions

JAKARTA - The requirements for making a Driving License (SIM) and a Police Record Certificate (SKCK) which must include the Health Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS) have begun to be implemented in Maluku.

The Maluku Regional Police (Polda) has set these two things as the main requirements. "This policy has just been submitted, later we will continue to implement it, of course we are here to adjust it. We just have to wait for further directions,” said Head of the Maluku Police Public Relations Kombes Pol, M. Roem Ohoirat, in Ambon, Friday, February 24.

According to him, the suggestion to have BPJS is a positive thing and a positive thing for the whole community, because it guarantees security.

"In a sense, this is guarding and protecting ourselves so that nothing happens, right," he said.

The government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has begun to require BPJS Health participant cards as a condition for obtaining public services.

In addition to requiring BPJS Health as one of the conditions for buying and selling land, it was revealed that the government also requires BPJS Health participation as a condition for Umrah registration to apply for a driving license (SIM).

Presidential Instruction (Inpres) 1/2022 on Optimizing the Implementation of the National Health Insurance Program instructs the National Police Chief to refine regulations to ensure that applicants for SIM, STNK, and SKCK are active participants of the JKN program.

Meanwhile, the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) will complete the regulation to make BPJS Health a requirement for managing motorized vehicles. The regulation is contained in Perpol Number 7 of 2021 concerning Resident Ranmor.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, wants to pursue the target of 98 percent of Indonesian citizens getting universal health insurance by 2024 through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2022.
