SEMARANG - Central Java Police questioned six police officers related to the incident in Wadas Village, Purworejo Regency, some time ago.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Iqbal Alqudusy, said the six members being examined were witnesses or suspected perpetrators of violations.

"The investigation was led directly by Irwasda and the Head of Propam," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 25.

According to Iqbal, an evaluation of the activities carried out by the police in Wadas Village was carried out immediately after the assistance in the area.

He also ensured that various items belonging to residents who had been secured in the incident in Wadas had been returned to their owners.

"All motorized vehicles that were reported missing have returned to their owners, including three cellular phones belonging to residents," continued Kombes Iqbal.

The current situation in Wadas Village, he continued, is conducive and harmonious. Kombes Iqbal said that the TNI and Polri continue to build social communication between communities, both those who support the existence of an andesite rock mining area for the needs of the Bener Dam project or those who reject it.

As previously reported, there was tension when officers from the Central Java BPN conducted land measurements for residents who were willing to release their land for the andesite mining needs of the Bener Dam project on February 2, 2022.

Komnas HAM itself also met with the Central Java Police Chief some time after the incident.

As a result of the meeting, Komnas HAM presented a number of preliminary findings based on the institution's monitoring in Wadas Village.

Komnas HAM and the Regional Police (Polda) of Central Java have agreed to coordinate more intensively to prevent the same incident from happening again while at the same time creating a conducive atmosphere in Wadas Village.
