DENPASAR - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Bali Governor Wayan Koster inspected the construction of an Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) in Padang Sambian Kaja, Denpasar, Bali.

According to Luhut, the construction of the Padang Sambian TPST will make waste management in Bali better.

"We want to make Bali clean. Actually, during the IMF World Bank, we wanted to manage Suwung. But the problem of tipping fees has stopped the issue, now we have found a better form, namely refuse-derived fuel (RDF). This RDF is already in Cilacap ( Central Java) and already exist in several places," said Luhut in Denpasar, Friday, February 25.

In Denpasar, there are two other waste management sites, namely the 3R TPST which was developed in Kesiman Kertalangu Village and the Tahura TPST, Denpasar.

Meanwhile, the Padang Sambian TPST can manage 820 tons of waste. This is because the waste in the Denpasar area in Denpasar is estimated at 800 tons per day supported by other 3R TPST management sites in Denpasar.

"So this will accommodate 820 tons of waste per day (for) processing. So, the waste in this Denpasar area is also around 800 tons and an additional 3 TPRs are still being worked on. So we are targeting all of this by the end of July (2022) already completed, August, September can operate," said Luhut.

Meanwhile, the budget is estimated at IDR 105 billion. According to him, this budget is much cheaper when compared to the management at the Suwung TPA.

"If I'm not mistaken, Rp. 105 billion is much cheaper than our Waste-to-Energy which we originally wanted to make in Suwung is R2.5 trillion. Anyway, this republic is now talking about efficiency, savings, and SMEs are involved, that's the president's order," said Luhut .
