Task Force: There Is A Possibility That The Bubble System Will Continue To Be Implemented In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Government Spokesperson for Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito said there is a possibility that the bubble system will continue to be applied in various activities held in Indonesia.

“In the future, it is possible that this 'bubble' system will be implemented in other areas and types of activities in Indonesia. To ensure that community activities are monitored, from the smallest sector to the largest," said Wiku, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 24.

Wiku said the bubble system was one of the government's prudent efforts in controlling community activities in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The system has already been implemented in a number of countries such as Japan and Thailand.

The system becomes a walking corridor aimed at dividing people involved in different groups and separating people exposed to COVID-19 from the general public, accompanied by restrictions on social interaction.

By learning from the two countries, the Indonesian government has ventured to test the bubble system in the XX PON event in 2021. Even now, Wiku admits that the government continues to perfect the principles of the system.

Meanwhile, in the case of Indonesia, the bubble system is now being used to support a number of activities, both nationally and internationally. Like the MotoGP competition in Mandalika, the escort in the tourism sector between Batam, Bintan and Singapore is also the G20 Presidency.

“Based on this real experience, the implementation of the 'bubble' system in Indonesia continues to be refined. Since the beginning of 2022, the government has compiled several detailed protocols for the special bubble system to support several activities,” said Wiku.

His party also participated in perfecting the system by issuing a Circular Letter of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 8 of 2022 concerning the Health Protocol for the Bubble System Mechanism in Bali during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wiku said that although several bubble systems with health protocols had been designed in such a way, the risk of COVID-19 transmission would still exist if they were not carried out collectively.
