TANGERANG - One Mercedez Bens bus was stolen from the auction hall in Pinang, Tangerang City. It is suspected that the perpetrator was the driver who took the bus to the auction hall. The theft was reported since Friday, February 18, night.

Pinang Police Chief Iptu Tapril confirmed the incident. Tapril explained, the bus driver took the Mercedez Bens bus type OH 1626 M/T Euro 3 in 2019 to the auction hall, on Friday 18 February at around 09.00 WIB. That night, said Tapril, at around 20.00 WIB, the driver returned and admitted that he had left his cellphone on the bus.

"He said he wanted to take his wallet and cellphone he left on the bus. The bus was deposited at the auction hall at around 09.00 in the morning, there was a receipt from the auction hall, with a follow-up driver at eight in the evening. At that time, the bus was taken again without the permission of the head of the auction hall branch head," said Tapril when confirmed, Thursday, February 24.

When asked about the identity of the perpetrator, Tapril admitted that his party had not been able to find out who the person who carried out the theft was.

"The perpetrator is still investigating. What is clear is that the driver is still there in the morning," he said.

In addition, the perpetrator in carrying out his action also invited other people to convince the auction hall security guard that it was no longer an auction bus.

The victim is estimated to have suffered losses of hundreds of millions of rupiah from this theft.

"He (the perpetrator) with assistance with other parties to take the bus, for this reason it is not a guarantee for the auction. How much does the bus cost, 800 (million) times. Yes, the name is a bus, right? Mercy," he explained.

Tapril suspected that the bus thief could not be from the bank who entrusted the bus to the auction hall. However, he was unable to elaborate further as the process is currently under investigation.

"It's impossible, yes, the bank has entrusted it. Maybe from another party. That's why we don't have a bright spot because it's still an investigation, "he said.
