Pangkostrad Maruli Simanjuntak Officially Becomes Lieutenant General, This Mantu Luhut Becomes The Youngest Officer To Get 3 Stars

JAKARTA - Pangkostrad Maruli Simanjuntak officially got one more star to become Lieutenant General. Luhut Panjaitan's son-in-law is also listed as the youngest officer to hold three stars or Lieutenant General.

The promotion ceremony was led by the Chief of Army Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman at the Army Headquarters (Mabesad), Jakarta, Wednesday, February 23, according to an official statement from the Dispenad obtained by the editor.

Not only Maruli -- a 1992 Military Academy graduate -- who was entitled to the rank of Lieutenant General. There are three more high-ranking officers (Pati) of the Indonesian Army; TNI Lt. Gen. Agus Subiyanto (Deputy KSAD), Lt. Gen. Ignatius Yogo Triyono (Dankodiklatad), and Lt. Gen. I Nyoman Cantiasa (Han) (Pangkogabwilhan III) who are serving outside the TNI AD structure.

In the ubum ceremony there were also 10 Pati officers who were promoted to two stars, 8 of whom served in the TNI AD structure, namely Major General TNI I Gde Agit Thomas, Major General TNI Dwi Wahyu Winarto, Major General TNI Yanuar Adil, Major General TNI Eko Erwanto, Major General TNI Denny Herman, Major General TNI Dwi Darmadi, Major General TNI Widi Prasetijono, Major General TNI dr. Nyoto Widyoastoro.

Two other people serve outside the TNI AD structure, namely TNI Major General Aris Susanto, and TNI Major General Cahyono Cahya Angkasa.

Then there were 40 Patis who were promoted from Colonel to one star. 18 of them serve in the structure of the Indonesian Army, namely Brigadier General Mudya Widiyanto, Brigadier General Kus Hariyono, Brigadier General Suparlan Purwo Utomo, Brigadier General Ruslan Effendi, Brigadier General Irnando Arnold B. Sinaga, Brigadier General Agung Pambudi, Brigadier General Asep Abdurachman , Brigadier General Wawan Erawan, Brigadier General Rudi Puruwito, Brigadier General Parlindungan Hutagalung, Brigadier General Djon Afriandi, Brigadier General Rudy Saladin, Brigadier General Wahyu Eko Purnomo, Brigadier General Bimo Soekrisno, Brigadier General Fitry Taufiq Sahary, Brigadier General dr. Stefanus Dony, Brigadier General dr. Edli Warman, and Brigadier General Dr. Ateng Karsoma.

While the 22 one-star Patis who served outside the TNI AD structure included Brigadier General Damar Teguh Santoso, S.Sos., M.Sc., Brigadier General Joko Slamet, SIP, M.Sc., MM, Brigadier General Iwan Sumantri, Brigadier General TNI R. Winatha, TNI Brigadier General Budi Santoso, SIP, MH, TNI Brigadier Lucky Avianto, SIP, M.Si ., Brigadier General Dedi Nurhadiman, SIP, M.Sc., Brigadier General Djoko Wibowo, S.Sos., Brigadier General Drs. Leo Yunaidy Wibisono, MAP, Brigadier General Suparjo, SIP, Brigadier General Eka Wijaya Permana, SH, Brigadier General Benjamin, SH, M, M., Brigadier General Kirto, SH, MH, Brigadier General Apel Ginting, SH, MH, Brigadier General TNI Murod, SH, MH, Brigadier General Dr. Yusuf Ali, SE, MM, CIQaR., Brigadier General Yuli Marjoko, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist and TNI Brigadier General Dewi Hartati, SM, the only Pati Women's Army Corps (Kowad)

General Dudung advised the Patis to pay close attention to the current TNI paradigm shift that has led the Indonesian Army to become more dynamic and humanist. However, the Army Chief of Staff also reminded that the other side of globalization that must be watched out for is the values of pragmatism that seek to infiltrate and erode the character and spirit of the nation's chivalry that has been guarded by the Indonesian Army.

"Unit development and education programs need to be optimized in building personnel and units that are adaptive to the dynamics of global technological and cultural developments," the Army Chief of Staff said.
