Contractor Claims 28.5 Percent Progress Of Formula E Circuit Construction

JAKARTA - The person in charge of Formula E construction at PT Jaya Konstruksi, Ari Wibowo, said that currently the progress of the Formula E circuit construction has now reached 28.5 percent.

Ari claims this progress is about 8 percent faster than the target. On the current 21st day of construction work, they are targeting construction to reach 19.69 percent.

"The construction of the Formula E circuit has an implementation period of 54 days. Imagine, with this weather, we currently reach 28.5 percent," said Ari when met at the construction site of the circuit, Ancol, North Jakarta, Wednesday, February 23.

Ari explained that the construction of the circuit by Jaya Konstruksi as the contractor is divided into five zones. These five zones are worked on by 565 workers.

One of the most difficult construction zones is zone 5. This zone is the most muddy area in the track construction area.

"As much as 40 percent of this work is in zone 5. So, zone 5 is the most difficult, draining energy and concentration the most. The zone that stands on soft ground is the most problematic," said Ari.

For information, the Formula E circuit has been under construction since February 3, 2022 and is targeted to be completed on March 28, 2022. The source of funds for this project is from PT Jakarta Propertindo's company money of around Rp. 50 billion.

The shape of the Formula E track is said to be similar to a lumping horse. Then, the location of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit has 18 bends, 600 meters of straight track, clockwise direction, and 2.4 kilometers of track length.

After completion of construction, the circuit will be reviewed and tested by FEO as the license holder of Formula E. Until finally, Formula E will officially be held in Ancol on June 4, 2022.
