JAKARTA - An officer for the Handling of Public Infrastructure and Facilities (PPSU), Aris Panjriansyah (38) was targeted by four armed robbers while leaving for work on Jalan Arcodion, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Tuesday, February 22, early in the morning.

Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Rio Police Commissioner Michael Tobing said that the incident began when the victim was riding a motorcycle across Jalan Boulevard Timur. Aris was suddenly approached by two motorcycle riders.

"The perpetrators were four unidentified men using two motorbikes. The perpetrators tried to approach the victim," Rio said when confirmed, Tuesday, February 22.

In fact, the victim was already trying to escape. But the perpetrators continued to follow him.

The chase was unavoidable until they reached Arcodion Street. Two perpetrators who approached him finally attacked with sharp weapons.

"The victim tried to fend off the sharp weapon. But it hit the edge of the left palm," he said.

The attempted burglary was finally thwarted. After the security officers at the scene helped the victim and put up a fight against the perpetrator.

"Security put up a fight so that the perpetrator immediately left the victim," he said.

Now the perpetrators are being chased by the Kelapa Gading Police Satreskrim. Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to Koja Hospital, North Jakarta, for treatment.

"The victim is being treated in the emergency room at Koja Hospital," he said.
