JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police have named 9 suspects in the case of beating and incitement that killed an elderly man named Wiyanto Halim in the Pulogadung Industrial area, Cakung District, East Jakarta. The suspects had the initials TB (21), JI (23), RYN (23), MA (23), MJ (18), F (19), BJ, A and HP.

Although the number of suspects continues to grow, Bryna Halim, the second child of the victim, hopes that the police will not stop the investigation in the case of beatings.

"The police have until now (processed) the incident at the TKP (the crime scene) only. The pursuit (disclosure of cases) has only reached the TKP, so they don't need to investigate further," said Bryna when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, February 22.

Bryna hopes that the Police will trace the CCTV footage from the time her parents left the house until the unfortunate incident occurred.

"I don't want it to stop there (the investigation). I want to know my Papah's CCTV, what's important is that," he said.

Separately, the attorney for the victim's family, Freddy Y Patty, said that his party had given several names to be examined as development instructions, but the police did not do so.

"But until now none of them have been examined," he said when confirmed by VOI.

Meanwhile, regarding the application of Article 160 of the Criminal Code to three additional suspects identified with the initials DJ, A and HP, Freddy assessed that his sentence was far below Article 170 of the Criminal Code.

"In fact, because of their actions, people have the heart to kill innocent parents. The three people should still be subject to Article 55 of 170 of the Criminal Code," said Freddy.

Previously, it was reported that the East Jakarta Metro Police had again named three additional suspects in the case of the beating that killed Wiyanto Halim in the Pulogadung area, East Jakarta.

"The three suspects are initials DJ, A and HP. DJ was involved because at the time of the incident he was riding with suspect A. DJ honked his horn repeatedly to attract the attention of people around him to join in chasing the victim," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Endra Zulpan told reporters, Monday 21 February.
