MEDAN - The business of blocking cellphone numbers has a long tail. The man with the initials JAS (25), a resident of Tapian Nauli Village, Onan Tukka District, Central Tapanuli Regency (Tapteng), North Sumatra, was arrested by the police for stabbing a housewife.

North Tapanuli Police Chief AKBP Ronald Sipayung, through the Head of Public Relations Aiptu W Baringbing, explained that the perpetrator was arrested for recklessly stabbing a housewife (IRT) with the initials SS (30), Monday, February 14. The suspect is believed to have a crush on the victim.

"At the time of the incident, the victim's husband was not at home because he was working night shift," said Aiptu Baringbing, Monday, February 21.

When arrested, the suspect confessed to all his actions that had abused the victim. The perpetrator, he said, was beaten with a knife three times.

Aiptu Baringbing said the abuse was carried out by the suspect because he felt offended by the victim because his cellphone number was blocked. As a result, the perpetrator is unable to communicate with the victim.

"To investigators, the suspect said that if he contacted the victim on February 13, because on February 14, the victim had a birthday and wanted to celebrate together in Tarutung," he explained.

At that time, the victim immediately blocked the suspect's number so that he could no longer communicate. On February 14, the suspect changed his number and called the victim again. After talking, the victim again blocked the number.

"That's why the suspect was offended. Then Tuesday, February 14, the suspect came from his workplace in Siborong-borongg on a motorbike and prepared a knife," he said.

Before persecuting, the perpetrator monitored the situation and location. After that, the suspect banged on the victim's door.

"After the victim opened the door, the suspect immediately stabbed the victim in the stomach twice. Then stabbed the victim once in the back," he said.

After stabbing the victim's body, the suspect fled. The victim was taken by neighbors to the hospital.

"The perpetrator fled the first day to his own village. Feeling uncomfortable, the victim moved to the Barus area, Central Tapanuli and on Thursday hid in Humbang Hasundutan Regency," he said.

However, when the suspect was in Humbang Hasundutan District, the police had tracked him down. The suspect hid in the forest and died on his motorbike on the side of the road.

"Currently, the suspect has been detained under Article 351 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 5 years in prison. While the victim is still being treated at Tarutung Hospital for health recovery," he said.
