LAMPUNG - A joint team from the Pringsewu Police, the Lampung Regional Police confiscated hundreds of alcoholic beverages of various brands during a week-long (concentrated) public disease raid.

Pringsewu Police Chief AKBP Rio Cahyowidi said the raid was carried out in a number of stalls and wine stalls in his jurisdiction.

"We are holding this concentrated raid to reduce the crime rate and eradicate community diseases, especially in the Pringsewu area," he said in Pringsewu Regency, Lampung, Antara, Monday, February 21.

He explained that during the raid, the police targeted gambling, liquor, thuggery, and other street crimes. Liquor raids were carried out in a number of stalls indicated to sell liquor.

"For about a week since February 17, 2022, we managed to confiscate 305 liters of palm wine and 12 bottles of the Sampurna brand," he said.

Rio added that the hundreds of liquor were confiscated from nine stalls spread across the Pringsewu area. For the shop owners themselves, data collection and guidance have been carried out so as not to resell liquor.

"We need to know that a lot of fighting and criminal acts as well as domestic violence are often triggered by alcohol problems. Because alcohol is one of the main causes of the high crime rate in society, we have been carrying out raids intensively all this time," he said again.
