Regent Rudy Gunawan: Train Ticket For Garut-Pasar Senen Station Rp41,000

GARUT - Garut Regent Rudy Gunawan conveyed that the price of an economy class train ticket for the Garut-Pasar Senen Station, Jakarta, was Rp. 41,000.

"The fare from Garut Station to Pasar Senen is around Rp. 41 thousand," said Rudy during a test train for the Garut-Pasar Senen Station connection in Garut, West Java, Antara, Sunday, February 20.

Currently, the commercial train from the Garut-Pasar Senen Station is being tested before being given an operational permit by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub). The Garut-Cibatu Station line, which has just finished its reactivation construction, said the Regent, will operate three economy class train departures per day.

The three commercial trains, he continued, apart from the Garut-Pasar Senen Station connection, there are also Garut-Padalarang and Garut-Purwakarta, then in a week, they serve the executive train route from the Garut-Gambir Station, Jakarta.

"There are three departures in one day, namely the train heading directly to Garut to Pasar Senen, the Cibatuan train heading to Padalarang, and the train heading from Garut to Purwakarta, so there will be three trains later in Garut," he said.

He hopes that before Eid al-Fitr, the train connection to Garut can operate to serve the general public, so that people from Jakarta who want to go home can use the train without having to get stuck in traffic jams.

"God willing, before Lebaran we will have a train from Jakarta to Garut, so if there are parents with children in Jakarta, Lebaran does not have to be in traffic jams, this has a capacity of 500 people," he said.

While waiting for the permit to be issued, said the Regent, PT KAI on February 23, 2022 will operate a train traveling from Garut-Cibatu Station for the general public for free.

"Starting on the 23rd (February 2022) next Wednesday, there will be a free Garut-Cibatu train journey, approximately one month (trial)," he said.

The Regent invites the public to use rail transportation services as the transportation of choice to travel outside the city in a safe, comfortable, and timely manner.

"I hope it can be used because it is cheap, the time is right, let's use the train as a safe, cheap and comfortable means of transportation," he said.
