General Andika: If Proposed Procurement Of Alutsista Must Be The Latest Output

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa wants to modernize the main weapon system (defense equipment) used by soldiers to be based on digital technology to support tasks in the field.

"For example, the Leopard Tank is automatic, while this one is not," said TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa through a YouTube channel monitored in Jakarta, Sunday, February 20.

Alutsista that uses a digital system will greatly facilitate soldiers in serving in the field. For example, a tank with a digital system will be much easier to operate than a tank with a manual system.

"If the new technology is on the way we can aim, this one has taken too long," said the former Army Chief of Staff.

He said that during his tenure as Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), General Andika always proposed the procurement of modern and sophisticated defense equipment. The rest is the Ministry of Defense who decides whether to accept it or not.

"If you want to propose the procurement of defense equipment, then the latest output must be," he said.

Previously, the Commander of the Marine Corps (Dankormar) for the period December 2018 to January 2022, Major General (Mayjen) TNI (Mar) Suhartono, said that TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa really wanted the modernization of defense equipment.

"His direction is to modernize the defense equipment system, if possible, the digital system is not manual anymore," he said.

That is, if you already use a defense system with a digital system, then the ability is much more capable and accurate. Currently, many defense equipment in the Marine Corps are classified as old.
