South Halmahera Regent Examined By Criminal Investigation Police Investigators Related To Alleged IUP Forgery

TERNATE - Bareskrim Polri investigators are examining the Regent of South Halmahera, North Maluku, Usman Sidik as a witness in the alleged forgery of a number of mining business permits (IUP).

"Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit on the issue of a number of IUPs on Obi Island that were proposed by the Governor of North Maluku to be revoked," said Halsel Regent Usman Sidik as quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 19.

According to Usman, there are five IUPs proposed by the governor to be revoked, namely PT Aneka Tambang Resources Indonesia (ATRI), PT Serongga Sumber Lestari (SSL), PT Mulia Putra Sejahtera, PT Anugera Bukit Besar, and PT Obi Anugra Mineral. These five companies operate on Obi Island.

PT ATRI itself has a concession area of 2,229.58 hectares with the number SK 188.A 2011. The validity period of this nickel mining company's license is from October 15, 2011 to October 15, 2031.

Meanwhile, PT SSL has a concession area of 607.88 hectares. SK PT SSL Number 166 A Year 2011 with a validity period from October 13, 2011 to October 13, 2031.

Usman's examination was carried out in his office at the regent's office. He was examined by investigators for Certain Crimes (Tipditer) of the Criminal Investigation Department with the rank of Kombes and AKBP.

Regent Usman, who confirmed that he was being investigated by the Tipditer Investigation Team of the Criminal Investigation Department, consisted of 5 people.

Meanwhile, until now there are a number of large mining companies that have carried out exploitation activities on Obi Island, including PT Wanatiara and PT Harita Group, in fact both companies have made major contributions through CSR to communities around the mine.
