Meanwhile, the Head of DPKP Aceh Tamiang Safuan explained that the partial harvest of the first vaname shrimp was accelerated by five days. Shrimp grow so fast that the capacity in the pond must be immediately reduced to get maximum growth.
“Actually, the harvest schedule is five days away. This means that at the age of 60 days, shrimp growth is good, so the harvest is accelerated. Usually, the first partial harvest is 70-75 days old, although it is still 60 days old, we have already got 100 and 90 shrimps according to the target," he said.
According to Safuan, the price of shrimp for size 90 is IDR 43 thousand per kilogram and for size 100 IDR 40 thousand per kilogram. The partial harvest this time is limited to 4 tons with the assumption that an average size of 90 is 180,000 heads and a size of 100 is 200,000 heads.
