Pamekasan COVID-19 Task Force Reports 17 Positive COVID-19 Students

PAMEKASAN - The Pamekasan Regency COVID-19 Task Force, East Java reported as many as 17 positive COVID-19 students, after the team conducted tracking in a number of high schools in the region.

"The 17 students who tested positive for COVID-19 were from two public high schools," said Public Relations of the COVID-19 Task Force at the RSUD Dr. Slamet Martodirdjo Pamekasan, Dr. Syaiful Hidayat, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 18.

Each in SMA Negeri 3 as many as 14 people and in SMA Negeri 1 Pamekasan as many as 3 people, so a total of 17 people.

The finding of students who were exposed to COVID-19 was based on the results of tracking the COVID-19 Task Force team at the dr Slamet Martodirdjo Pamekasan Hospital.

"So at the Pamekasan Hospital, there were several COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment, then we asked the patient, who were they in close contact with?," he said.

From the patient's confession, the COVID-19 Task Force team followed up by examining people who were in direct contact.

"Among them, some are still students in several high schools," he said.

His party then dispatched a team, conducted a rapid antigen test, and it was found that there were students who were positive for COVID-19.

"Initially at SMA Negeri 3 Pamekasan, then moved to SMA Negeri 1 and SMA Negeri 2. In SMA Negeri 3 and SMA Negeri 1 it was found that there were students who were positive for COVID-19," he said, explaining.

Regarding this finding, the Pamekasan Health Office (Dinkes) immediately recommended that the two schools should adopt an online learning pattern.

"The goal is to anticipate the spread to other students," said Acting (Pj) Head of the Pamekasan Health Office, Dr. Saifudin.

Actually, he continued, in accordance with the provisions of the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 10 of 2022, districts/cities entering level 2 of PPKM can hold 100 percent face-to-face teaching and learning activities.

"But, because there are incidents of students being exposed, we suggest that online teaching and learning activities first, because we are worried that there will be a spike in cases among students that is more severe," he said.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Pamekasan Regency Government's COVID-19 Task Force, the total number of positive COVID-19 residents as of 17 February 2022 was 2,791 people, 2,494 people recovered, 201 people died, with 96 active cases.
