KPK Ensures Awarding Of Firli Bahuri's Wife According To Mechanism

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed the awarding of the wife of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri, Ardina Safitri according to the applicable mechanism.

This was conveyed in response to the polemic of awarding an award from the KPK to Ardina after he created a hymn and march. The two songs were released by the KPK on Thursday, February 17th.

"(The awards, ed) have all gone through the mechanism process for the provision of rules by the KPK to external parties," said Ali in a written statement, Friday, February 18.

He emphasized that the award was no different from the one often given by the KPK to gratuities reporting and the State Organizing Assets Report (LHKPN).

In addition, Ali said the gift was made because the songwriter donated his work and the copyright was registered in the name of the KPK. Thus, the award was deemed necessary, especially since the hymns and marches gave encouragement in efforts to eradicate corruption.

"The Ministry of Law and Human Rights has handed over the copyright in question to the KPK. The KPK has given an award in the form of a charter to its creator," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK released hymns and marches yesterday. It is Ardina Safitri, the wife of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri who is the creator.

The awarding ceremony was also held at the release of hymns and marches. In the schedule of events, the activity begins at 10.00 WIB by singing the anthem Indonesia Raya as the opening.

Furthermore, the reading of HAKI and the SK Leadership of the KPK regarding the determination of the KPK march and hymn by the law bureau. Next, Firli's wife as the songwriter is welcome to give a speech.

In this session, video shows of the behind-the-scenes process were also played. Then, the husband, Chairman of the KPK Firli Bahuri delivered a speech which was followed by the handover of copyright from the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly to the KPK.

Before finishing, Firli also presented an award to his wife as a songwriter.
