JAKARTA - The electability of the Governor of Central Java, who is also a cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Ganjar Pranowo is still included in the top three surveys of presidential candidates for 2024. At the same time, the electability of the Chair of the DPR and PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani is still far from Ganjar.

In response, the Head of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) Bambang Wuryanto, emphasized that the results of the electability survey are not a guarantee of victory in the 2024 presidential election.

The man who is familiarly called Bambang Pacul explained that the survey results are still very open. Because he said, until now there has not been a single party that has decided which figure will be carried in the 2024 presidential election.

Bambang also likens the current survey results to just an 'air battle' which is limited to benchmarks.

"To ensure the victory of a battle is a ground battle. When the infantry have laid flags in the combat area, we call it victory," said Bambang Pacul to reporters, Friday, February 18.

According to the chairman of Commission III of the DPR, political parties and coalitions must have a lot of considerations in deciding who will be promoted. Until now, he said, no political party has confirmed who will be promoted.

"Regarding cadre, track record, and what is definitely related to national interests, what will be carried by a figure who is in accordance with the challenges faced by the nation and state. The national interest is certain," he explained.

Bambang Pacul ensured that he would go all out when the General Chair, Megawati Soekarnoputri, had already determined who the figure of the presidential candidate (Capres) would be.

"Bambang Pacul waits for the general chairman's order. The general chairman orders that what must be won is to apologize, Mbilung and Sorowito, that's what we are fighting. Now today is only air," he said.

Nevertheless, Bambang appreciates the various survey results, although the party's decisions are not based solely on the survey results.

"The survey that is interesting for me is after it is clear that the names registered at the KPU are surveyed. That's only okay because the survey subjects are real. It's real. That's the boss," he concluded.

Previously, Saiful Muzani Research & Consulting (SMRC) released the results of its latest survey regarding the public opinion of the people of West Java. One of them is related to the electability of 10 names of potential figures who will become presidential candidates (candidates) in 2024.

SMRC Program Manager, Saidiman Ahmad asked respondents if the presidential election was held today who would be chosen. The top one is the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan with an electability of 18.4 percent.

"Prabowo 18.4 percent, Ridwan Kamil 17.8 percent, Ganjar 15.8 percent," Saidiman said in his online release, Tuesday, February 15.

After the four names, there are Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno (5.1 percent), Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (2.1 percent), and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto (1.3 percent. DPR chairman Puan Maharani, SOE Minister Erick Thohir, and the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa have electability below 1 percent.

"Those who don't know/don't answer 19 percent," said Saidiman.
