TANGERANG - Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah said the bed occupancy rate (BOR) for COVID-19 patients reached 54 percent of the 32 referral hospitals in Tangerang City. There are 600 beds that have been used from the 1,026 units provided.

"The 54 percent BOR is around 600 beds," said Arief when contacted, Thursday, February 17.

Meanwhile, for special mattresses for COVID-19 patients who are in concentrated isolation homes (RIT) there are 127 mattresses out of 373 provided.

Arief assessed the number of mattresses that were not filled. Because the average person exposed to COVID-19 in their area is self-isolating.

“Those who are being treated in concentrated isolation (isoters) are 127 out of 373 (mattresses provided). Most Covid-19 patients are at home in self-isolation," he said.

Arief said the patients who were treated at the hospital were people with severe symptoms.

The government had previously recommended hospitalization for patients with severe symptoms. Meanwhile, asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic COVID-19 patients are advised to undergo self-isolation.

“(So) in the hospital, most of them are comorbid. Right now, what's in the hospital are moderate and severe ones, so if it's only light, the directions from the central government are to be treated in self-isolation homes," he said.
