ACEH TIMUR - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of East Aceh plans to make the east coast area a culinary tourism center. The presence of this tourist center is expected to move the community's economy.

East Aceh Regent Hasballah said the culinary tourism to be built would be centered in Kuala Parek Village, Sungai Raya District.

"This village has a lot of potential for culinary tourism, such as fisheries and animal husbandry, so it is suitable as a culinary tourism center in East Aceh Regency," said Hasballah in East Aceh, Antara, Thursday, February 17.

According to Hasballah, the East Aceh Regency Government will continue to explore the potential for culinary tourism in this region, considering that the village is directly adjacent to the coast of the Malacca Strait.

"In fact, the village is also surrounded by rivers and coastal forest areas whose expanses can be used for white grouper cultivation. The development of culinary tourism will improve the community's economy," he said.

However, the Regent acknowledged that the development of culinary tourism requires a large budget, especially to fix road and bridge infrastructure.

Therefore, said Hasballah, the East Aceh Regency Government will seek the budget for the development and development of culinary tourism to the provincial and central governments.

"We continue to strive to build the tourism sector to increase tourist visits to East Aceh Regency. In addition to advancing the community's economy, the tourism sector is also to increase local revenue," he said.
