Jakarta Streets Run Smoothly During PPKM Level 3

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya noted that the volume of vehicles entering DKI Jakarta decreased by up to 14 percent during the Level 3 Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM).

"Judging from the total volume that crosses the toll gates in Halim, Cililitan and Tomang, if last Monday compared to Monday last week there was a varied decline, but the figure was 10 to 14 percent," said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo. Data from the Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya is also strengthened by data from the Google Mobility Index which shows a decrease in the volume of vehicles in the capital city.

"In the Google Mobility Index, there is even a drop of up to 22 percent," said Sambodo.

Google Mobility Index data also shows a decrease in the number of vehicles in several office locations, recreation areas and public transportation.

"From the Google Mobility Index, there is indeed a sharp decline in the workplace, recreation areas, then in public transportation and so on," said Sambodo.

Sambodo revealed, there are several factors that contributed to the decline in the number of vehicles in the capital, including companies that have implemented WFH, a decrease in mall visitors and the PPKM policy that does not allow small children in malls.

Then several schools postponed Face-to-Face Learning (PTM) again because some of their students were positive for COVID19.

"So it all affects the decrease in the volume of traffic in Jakarta," he said.

Data on the mobility of vehicles entering Jakarta published by the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, namely:1. GT Cililitan (Jagorawi-Direction Jakarta)- Monday, Jan 31 2022: 21,210 vehicles.- Monday, 07 Feb 2022: 19,841 vehicles.- Monday, Feb 14 2022: 19,146 vehicles.

2. GT HALIM (Cikampek-Direction Jakarta) - Monday, Jan 31, 2022: 22,664 vehicles. - Monday, 07 Feb 2022: 21,534 vehicles. - Monday, February 14 2022: 20,495 vehicles.

3. GT Tomang (Tangerang-Direction Jakarta) - Monday, Jan 31 2022 : 16,022 vehicles. - Monday, 07 Feb 2022: 14,638 vehicles. - Monday, February 14 2022: 15,001 vehicles.
