MATARAM - West Nusa Tenggara DPRD member, Made Slamet regretted the attitude of PT Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) which sold the bundling package to watch MotoGP on March 18-20 2022 by staying in Bali.
"If ITDC makes the package, it's outrageous. We can't wait to accept the dregs. It shouldn't be like that, it's not allowed," he said in Mataram, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.
According to him, ITDC's move to sell a bundling package to watch MotoGP by staying in Bali was a wrong step. Because, according to him, the availability of rooms in NTB is still quite sufficient to accommodate MotoGP spectators.
"The issue of full hotel bookings in NTB is just a business game and then you can stay overnight in Bali. In fact, if you look at the facts on the ground, there are still many hotels that have not been booked. This is called losing the promotion," said Made Slamet.
Therefore, his party will ask the NTB Tourism Office to immediately conduct data collection and promotion, especially to counter the issue of high hotel room rates, so as not to damage the name of the region.
"The issue of expensive hotel rooms will actually make hotels in Bali harvest. We don't want ITDC and MGPA to act like that, why not promote packages in Lombok," said the member of DPRD from the Mataram City electoral district.
According to him, when it comes to hotel rooms, thousands of hotel rooms in Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno in North Lombok Regency even though they still look empty. Of the more than 6,000 rooms, only 200 have been occupied.
"What's the difference in promoting Bali instead of Gili Trawangan, Air and Meno. If you look at the distance, it's even further to Bali. What's wrong with ITDC and MGPA making packages like that," he said.
For this reason, his party hopes that the issue of selling the bundling package to watch MotoGP by staying in Bali can be reviewed.
"Please fill the rooms in NTB first. Because we still have a lot of vacancies," he said.
It is known that ITDC launched a bundling package to watch MotoGP at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit on March 18-20, 2022.
Bundling packages are available starting at IDR 8.9 million per pax for bundling with Grandstand Premium tickets and starting at IDR 17.2 million per pax for bundling with VIP Hospitality Suites Deluxe Class tickets, which can be purchased through the Xplorin platform (xplorin.bigtix.io) .
