JAMBI - The Jambi Provincial Government through the Education Office and Health Office conducted a PCR swab test on all students of SMAN Titian Teras as an effort to trace close contacts of COVID-19 patients at the school.

"Today, samples were taken from all SAMN Titian Teras students to ascertain whether there was still transmission of COVID-19 in the school environment or not," said Head of the Jambi Provincial Education Office, Varial Adhi Putra in Jambi, Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

There were 552 students of SMAN Titian Teras who were sampled for the PCR swab test today. Varial Adhi Putra explained that previously there were 37 students of SMAN Titian Terrace who were exposed to COVID-19.

From this case, all students of SMAN Titian Teras were carried out by carrying out a rapid antigen test, the results were 172 people were reactive.

From the reactive antigen results, a PCR swab test was carried out and there were 36 students who were declared positive for COVID-19. So that the total number of students at SMAN Titian Teras who were exposed to COVID-19 was 73 people.

To determine whether or not transmission is still occurring in the school environment, today, Wednesday (16/2) all students of SMAN Titian Teras were taken PCR swabs.

"The PCR swab test is a quick step taken to break the chain of transmission, and currently all Titian Teras High School students who have been exposed to COVID-19 are undergoing isolation at the Integrated Isolation Home (Isoter) at the Jambi Health Center," said Varial Adhi Putra.

As an anticipatory measure if there are additional students exposed to COVID-19, the Jambi Provincial Education Office together with the school prepared one of the rooms at SMAN Titian Teras which is located far from the dormitory for isolation locations.
