JAKARTA - Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Nia Niscaya, explained that the arrival of Singapore Airlines (SQ) to Bali on Wednesday 16 February will increase the accessibility of foreign tourists to Indonesia.

"This is also expected to increase the opportunities for stakeholders to rise and encourage the national economy through the tourism sector," he said in a written statement, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 16, quoted from Antara.

Since the government opened the Bali border for foreign tourists, Singapore Airlines has become the first foreign airline to fly to Indonesia.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy hopes that this can be a momentum for economic revival and wider job creation, not only for the Balinese, but for Indonesia as a whole.

SQ's landing in Bali is said to be one of the results of the strong collaboration between the airline, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Bali Regional Government, the Ministry of Transportation, and other related parties.

This flight departs from Singapore Changi International Airport on February 16, 2022 at 09.05 (Singapore time) and arrives at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 11.56 WITA with 156 passengers, consisting of 109 Foreign Citizens (WNA) and 47 Nationals. Indonesian (WNI).

"Singapore Airlines will operate seven flights a week between Singapore and Bali. The resumption of daily flights to Bali will facilitate SIA customers who wish to travel to and from Holiday Island Bali," said Nia.

Later, overseas travelers (PPLN) can take a warm up vacation package (quarantine in a hotel with a bubble system) upon arrival in Bali.

This system allows a person to be active not only in the room, but can carry out various activities in the bubble area specially prepared by the hotel manager.

"So this is different from quarantine which is only in rooms. The warm up vacation program is carried out in hotels that implement a bubble system that is ready with health protocols in a disciplined manner," he said.

General Manager of Indonesia Singapore Airlines Alvin Seah appreciated the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Directorate General (DG) of Air Transportation, Angkasa Pura, and the Bali Regional Government for supporting the re-activation of Singapore Airlines flights to the island of Bali.

"We hope that the situation in Indonesia will continue to improve and remain under control so that the tourism industry can continue to improve," said Alvin.

Singapore Airlines will deploy Boeing B787-10 aircraft with a seating capacity of 337 passengers, consisting of 36 Business Class seats and 301 Economy Class seats.
