Police Arrest Lover Couple, Perpetrator Of Mobile Phone Fraud In Duren Sawit

JAKARTA - A couple in Malacca Sari, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, was arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police, East Jakarta, on suspicion of fraud, extortion and threats to victims during a mobile phone transaction.

In launching their action, the two perpetrators asked the victim to transact by COD (cash on delivery) after communicating through the MiChat application.

"The suspect acted with his girlfriend with the initials I. When the victim was caught off guard, the suspect took away the victim's cellphone," said Kompol Suyud when confirmed, Tuesday, February 15, evening.

During the action, the perpetrator did not hesitate to threaten the victim with a sharp weapon. The victim finally reported the case to the Duren Sawit Police Headquarters.

The Head of Duren Sawit Police, Kompol Suyud, said the suspect with the initials R (22) was arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police on Jalan Nusa Indah Raya, Malaka Sari, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta.

"This couple is still undergoing investigation by the Criminal Investigation Team of the Duren Sawit Police. We are still investigating this case to find out the suspect's motive," he said.
