The Attorney General's Office Examines 4 Former Garuda Commissioners

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office have questioned four former commissioners of PT Garuda Indonesia in connection with the investigation into the alleged corruption case of aircraft charter.

The four former commissioners, namely Sahala Lumban Gaol (SLG) as President Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2019, Adi Rahman Adwonso (ARA) as Commissioner of Garuda Indonesia in 2012.

Then Dony Oskaria as Commissioner of Garuda Indonesia in 2014, and Muzaffar Ismail (MI) as President Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2014.

"The four witnesses were examined in relation to the aircraft procurement mechanism," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak in a written statement, Tuesday, February 15.

Previously, Monday, February 14, investigators from the Jampidsus AGO also questioned Chairal Tanjung, Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia, regarding the mechanism for procuring aircraft.

In addition to Chairal Tanjung, investigators also examined four other witnesses, each Sigit Muhartono as Director of Cargo of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2017, I Wayan Susena as Director of Engineering in 2017.

Then, Linggasari Suharso as Director of Human Resources and General Affairs in 2017, and Capten Triyanto Moeharsono as VP Operation Planning and Control in 2009.

The Attorney General's Office has raised the status of the alleged corruption case of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk to the general investigation stage on Wednesday, January 19. Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin said that the investigation would progress, not only regarding ATR 72-600, but also related to procurement Bombardier, Airbus, Boeing and Rolls Royce.
