IX/Udayana Regional Commander Alerts Thousands Of G20 Security Personnel

DENPASAR - IX/Udayana Regional Commander alerted thousands of personnel from the Regional Security Task Force and Evacuation Task Force for security during the G20 Summit in Bali.

"From the Regional Security Task Force, there are approximately 4,000 organics from Kodam IX/Udayana, the Evacuation Task Force 1,800-2,000 are also organic from IX/Udayana Regional Commander", said Commander of IX/Udayana Regional Commander, Major General of Indonesian Army (TNI) Sonny Aprianto, quoted by Antara on Tuesday, 15 February.

The Military Commander said that the current security situation is monitored to be conducive, but must always remain vigilant with all possibilities.

"I also had a working visit yesterday to the provincial government, the regional police to the prosecutor's office, and State Intelligence Service of Bali to synergize in exchanging information, I have to revive the regional intelligence community so that they can exchange information and anticipate dangerous things", he said.

During the implementation of the G20 Summit later, the IX/Udayana Regional Commander will be assigned as the Commander of the Regional Security Task Force under the command of the Commander of the VVIP Integrated Joint Command.

In addition, he is also tasked with alerting the Evacuation Task Force, in this case, the Task Force Commander is IX/Udayana Regional Commander.

According to Pangdam Udayana, the strength of the two task forces will be flexible and there will be a task force that also merges into a certain task force.

Meanwhile, in preparing for the G20 Summit, the central government is also focusing on handling waste in the Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan areas.

This is because the peak of G20 activities in November 2022 will be held in the region. The government will also support the development of priority infrastructure in the form of 3 Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST), and 9 Reuse, Reduce and Recycle Waste Processing Sites (TPS3R) in Denpasar.
