JAKARTA - After going through the investigation process, the South Jakarta Metro Police finally arrested a middle-aged man with the initials RBP who pointed a construction worker at a construction worker with a firearm-like object at Pondok Indah, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

RBP was suspected of being threatened by using a Glock-17, an airsoft gun, to the victim with the initials SES.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Endra Zulpan, said that the incident occurred on Saturday, February 12, at 08.15 WIB.

The incident started when RBP was doing a zoom meeting at his house. At the same time, SES was doing his job as a construction worker, which was located next to RBP's house, the suspect.

“Due to the homework, of course it makes quite a loud noise. This is more disturbing than the suspect," Endra told reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Tuesday, February 15.

"It so happened that at that time (the suspect) was doing activities at his home, namely doing a zoom meeting in his office," he continued.

Due to the loud noise, the suspect left the house with his driver, Trisno and approached the victim who was next to his house.

He reprimanded the victim for asking to stop his work. The perpetrators even splashed SES with tea water at the scene.

“(The victim) was asked to stop but was not stopped according to the suspect's confession. The victim continued to work, then was reminded again a second time, to stop immediately. But it didn't stop either.

The suspect saw that there was a tea cup, which was splashed on the victim's face," he said.

Not only that, the perpetrator took out an airsoft gun. So that the victims are frightened and stop working on the renovation work.

"The suspect also pointed a weapon resembling a black Glock-17 air softgun while saying 'hit the knee or hit the leg' while pointing the weapon," he explained.

“Thus, it makes the victim afraid, because they think it is like a real weapon. He didn't expect it to be an air soft gun. So the victim was afraid and immediately stopped his work," he added.

After the incident, the victim reported the threat to the South Jakarta Police.

"The Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim conducted an in-depth investigation after receiving the victim's report (and) took law enforcement steps by examining and establishing the person concerned as a suspect under Article 335 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 1 year imprisonment," he said.
