Formula E Tickets Want To Be Sold Even Though The Circuit Isn't Finished Yet, Gerindra: Selling Apartments Is The Same Way

JAKARTA - BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) plans to open ticket sales for Formula E in March 2022. In contrast to PDIP which criticizes this plan, Gerindra supports ticket sales to be carried out next month.

Deputy Chairman of the DKI DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Mohamad Taufik, has no problem with Formula E tickets being sold in March, even though the construction of the circuit has not yet been completed.

Taufik also likens the sale of electric car race tickets to a property company selling apartments. They, said Taufik, usually sell their units even though the building is not yet finished.

"Yes, it's okay. People sell apartments as well. The apartments don't exist yet. They've been sold. They're still being built. The point is the road is going, so," Taufik told reporters, Tuesday, February 15.

According to Taufik, the Formula E ticket sales scheme is considered normal in a marketing strategy. After all, he continued, the construction of the Formula E circuit would definitely be completed before the event.

"He (the ticket sales by Jakpro) has already been calculated. The circuit is based on a two-month basis at the latest. If anyone is not sure, it means they really don't want this (Formula E) to be successful," said Taufik.

Previously, the President Director of PT Jakpro Widi Amanasto brought the latest news regarding the implementation of Formula E. Widi revealed that tickets to watch Formula E will be sold next month.

"Formula E tickets are ready for sale in March," said Widi in a short message.

However, the subordinates of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, are reluctant to reveal the price of the Formula E tickets that they have set.

Because, currently Jakpro is still waiting for the approval of ticket pricing from Formula E Operation as the license holder for the electric car racing event.

"Waiting for FEO approval," said Widi.

The ticket sales plan was criticized by a member of Commission B of the DKI DPRD from the PDIP faction, Gilbert Simanjuntak. Gilbert views the plan to sell tickets to watch Formula E in March as irrational.

This is because Formula E Operation (FEO) has not stated whether the location of the Formula E circuit is feasible or not. Given, currently the construction of the circuit is also just being done.

"The sales plan for March is also something that is irrational. The track is also not necessarily approved by the FEO so that ticket sales are also not yet timed," said Gilbert.
