TARAKAN - A total of three security officers at Juwata International Airport in Tarakan, North Kalimantan, were involved in smuggling 8.2 kilograms of methamphetamine.

"From the results of the development, it was found that there were seven perpetrators and three of them, namely AM, SU and BA, who were Avsec officers at Juwata Airport," said the Head of the North Kalimantan Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP), Brigadier General Samudi, in Tarakan as reported by Antara, Monday, February 14. .

He said that after receiving the delegation of the case from the Kodim 0907/Tarakan, Friday, February 11, with one suspect and 8.2 kilograms of evidence of crystal methamphetamine, the Kaltara BNNP eradication team immediately carried out the development.

“That night the team moved until morning. Thank God we managed to get a total of seven more perpetrators, namely on behalf of (initials) AM, SU, BA, RI alias AT, PA, GO and the seven DEs," said Samudi.

When the case was transferred from Kodim 0907/Tarakan with the initials RI, it was developed where the drugs were obtained and then looked for the person who ordered it.

“Then we got information that the one who ordered it was AM. AM incidentally is a security officer at Juwata Tarakan Airport," continued Samudi.

After confirmation to the airport, AM is an outsourced employee from PT GTA (Garuda Tawakal Abadi).

After further development, AM is known to work with colleagues at the airport as security officers, namely SU and BA. "So three people (AM, SU, BA) are airport security employees outsourced to PT GTA," said Samudi.

RI was the first perpetrator who was arrested by Kodim 0907/Tarakan carrying drugs on AM's orders. The goods were taken from someone on behalf of PA and RE at Amal Beach, then after the goods were obtained the drugs were handed over to SU and BA.

"Here the involvement is clear that the officer (Avsec) makes it easy and smooth so that it doesn't pass through the X Ray machine at SCP 1. And the item was handed over by the perpetrator at night," he said.

Furthermore, SU asked the airport porter to help check in, after getting the baggage tag it was then handed over to RI and finally an arrest was made.

It is known that RI will bring the drugs from Tarakan to Palu using Lion Air. In this case, a total of eight perpetrators were arrested by officers, with evidence of shabu weighing 8.2 kilograms.
