SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo held a meeting related to the Bener Dam construction project, Purworejo on Monday 14 February. The meeting was held after the PDI-P politician visited Wadas Village yesterday and listened to input and stories from people who refused.

In the meeting, Ganjar invited the Head of the Central Java BPN Regional Office, the Head of BBWS Serayu Opak and OPD ranks within the Central Java Provincial Government. Ganjar's words were quite firm when he opened the meeting. He asked that no one should play around with the Bener Dam project.

"What I want to emphasize is to dedicate ourselves to the interests of the nation and state. Get rid of thoughts that will make things difficult in the field. Is it business, personal interests and so on. Don't play games, this is about Red and White and we will contribute to society I'm serious about this," said Ganjar.

In addition to emphasizing this, Ganjar asked the parties to conduct an evaluation. He received this evaluation after receiving input from the community directly when he came to Wadas.

Ganjar's further evaluation focused on three things, namely technical evaluation related to the Bener Dam construction project. Ganjar also asked all parties to evaluate the approach and widen the space for dialogue.

"I myself have proven that yesterday (Wadas) the public's response was good. I can communicate with those who are against it. The point is that the approach must be smooth, there should be no violence unless there is a threat," said Ganjar.

Ganjar Pranowo emphasized that from the start there was an agreement that there should be no violence. So if there was violence like that time, Ganjar would hand it over to the police for an evaluation.

"We submit it to the Regional Police Chief, please evaluate. Due to the initial design, we agreed that there would be no violence. That later on in the field, it is very possible. So, please, the Regional Police Chief will carry out his own evaluation, so that later we can provide good support institutionally," he said.

Ganjar Pranowo also asked BPN and BBWS to be more proactive in solving project problems. A number of technical matters, such as payment of compensation to people who have agreed, must be done immediately so that the community is calm.

"Those who have agreed will be paid immediately, those who have not agreed, we respect and we talk to. What are the technicalities, what are the post-mining conditions, what kind of environmental aspects and so on so that everyone understands," he said.

Ganjar Pranowo also said that the Central Java Provincial Government was ready to provide assistance to residents in Wadas Village. Information received when he went to Wadas, many people were traumatized, children became the target of bullying.

"We are ready to help, I have ordered all OPDs to step down. If the community agrees, tomorrow we will immediately deploy to assist women and children, assist in poverty alleviation programs, provide trauma healing and so on," concluded the man who was born on October 28, 1968.
