Nurul Ghufron KPK: Santri Is The DNA Of Anti-Corruption Fighters, Spreading Benefits, Not Taking

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron stated that the inheritance or DNA possessed by students are actually anti-corruption fighters since the era of the past struggle.

"Santri's DNA is anti-corruption, because he is forged to spread benefits, not take advantage of and take advantage of other people," said Ghufron in a written statement, quoted by Antara, Monday, February 14.

He invited all students in Islamic boarding schools throughout the country to join the jihad against corruption.

According to him, Islamic boarding schools are extraordinary places of education to forge the next generation of the nation, especially in eradicating corruption.

"The boarding school is the oldest educational institution in Indonesia. Long before Indonesia's independence, Islamic boarding schools were established to provide education," he said.

He said the Islamic boarding school students were forged with a very extraordinary education. Many values are taught in Islamic boarding schools, especially moral education.

"In addition, there is independence, cooperation, mutual respect, exemplary, equality, and of course love for the homeland," he said.

Ghufron admitted that he was not surprised that during the historic event on November 10 in Surabaya, students were at the forefront of efforts to defend independence.

"Because they knew that at that time they were fighting against the invaders who wanted to seize the independence of this nation," he said.

Currently, said Ghufron, the challenge that keeps the Indonesian people away from the ideals of independence, namely prosperity and justice, is corruption.

"Therefore, today's jihad is a war against corruption. Santri must again be called to come down and fight against corruption," he said.
