East Jakarta Traffic Unit Closes Contraflow In Cakung During PPKM Level 3

JAKARTA - The contraflow trial in front of Grand Cakung, East Jakarta, began to be canceled today, Monday 14 February. This was followed after the government set PPKM level 3.

East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head AKBP Edy Surasa said the contraflow trial was closed early because the government had implemented a level 3 restriction on community activities (PPKM).

"The initial plan was to close on February 18 (2022), but because the government implemented PPKM Level 3, we closed early," said AKBP Edy to reporters, Monday, February 14.

However, AKBP Edy has not been able to provide information about the continuation of the contraflow trial.

"Later, if there is more information, we will convey it," he said.

Previously, the East Jakarta Satlantas carried out a contraflow trial in front of Grand Cakung to overcome congestion on Jalan Raya Bekasi towards Jakarta KM 23-24 on Tuesday, February 7.

The implementation of the contraflow is planned to last until February 18. East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head AKBP Edy Surasa said the contraflow trial was carried out to overcome congestion caused by the accumulation of vehicles during work hours heading towards Jakarta.

"First of all, it's because the traffic is heavy, sometimes the traffic jam can be long. So we're doing a contraflow test from 06.00-09.00 WIB," he said, Tuesday, February 8.
