JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan assessed that the distribution of social assistance in various forms of card programs is more convincing for DKI Jakarta residents.

Anies said DKI Jakarta residents who live below their economic means feel confident as beneficiaries when they receive subsidies in the form of cards.

"For those of us who are already grateful, Alhamdulillah, we have enough income to have a decent life, it makes us feel calm. But, for those whose lives are difficult, the certainty that they can receive (assistance) is needed and having a card that can be seen by name makes he is sure that I will accept it," said Anies through a Youtube broadcast monitored in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, February 13.

Therefore, Anies said that social assistance for Jakarta residents, which reached Rp 5 trillion per year, was important to be distributed through cards.

"This Rp5 trillion per year is realized in the form of social assistance assistance, each of which has a card. Why is the card important? Because sometimes we see what is important is the transfer coming in, yes, the transfer comes in, (but) the card makes a sense of calm," said Anies .

According to him, there is a difference between groups who have a decent life and residents who are far from enough when they receive assistance in the form of cards.

Furthermore, Anies said that if the assistance was not given in the form of a card, the residents would not calm them down because they did not feel confident as the beneficiaries of the assistance.

"If there is no card, how can you convince yourself that they will accept it just by saying that it will be transferred to their account later, they will get it. Therefore, this card is important and this is what we will do later," he said.

In his Youtube broadcast, Anies revealed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government distributed social assistance in the form of cards for beneficiaries.
