Collaboration Between Perum Bulog And BKKBN To Distribute Fortifit Rice To Reduce Stunting

JAKARTA - Perum Bulog through the Bulog Care Nutrition program in collaboration with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) distributed 11,460 kg of Fortivit Rice to 191 people in South Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The handover ceremony was carried out in a hybrid manner, which was attended by the Business Director of Perum BULOG, Febby Novita, the Head of the BKKBN, Hasto Wardoyo, and the Regent of South Central Timor, Egusem Pieter.

"Bulog Cares for Nutrition is a tangible manifestation of Perum BULOG in the community in supporting the reduction of the prevalence of BGM Toddlers (Below the Red Line) which is the nation's golden generation through the provision of healthy, balanced food and ensuring safety for toddlers, one of which is through Fortivit rice," said Febby. which is present through the zoom application.

Febby added that the breakthroughs for fortification of food products such as salt, wheat flour, oil and rice that have been developed at this time are very useful in improving the quality of nutrition in food, for example, as has been done by BULOG on Fortivit Rice, and Bulog is ready to support and become a partner in supply of fortified staple foods.

According to Hasto Wardoyo, who also attended virtually, said that the Government is targeting a 14 percent reduction in stunting prevalence in 2024 and a sustainable development target in 2030 based on achievements in 2024 and he really hopes for full support from all parties to realize a Stunting Free Indonesia.

"We express our deepest gratitude to Perum BULOG for the assistance provided where previously Perum BULOG has also provided similar assistance in Kendal Regency and West Bandung Regency," said Hasto.

Furthermore, the Regent of South Central Timor, Egusem Piter, who was present at the location of the event in his speech, expressed his gratitude for the concern of BULOG and BKKBN for the people of South Central Timor.

"Hopefully with this noble assistance from BULOG in collaboration with the BKKBN, it is hoped that the stunting prevalence rate in South Central Timor can be reduced to 0 percent," said Egusem Piter.

Hopefully this event can be used as a lever for collaboration and convergence between Perum Bulog, BKKBN and the Regional Government of South Central Timor Regency and can also be adapted in other areas in order to build the nation to realize a Prosperous and Stunting Free Indonesia.
