JAKARTA - A number of traders in the traditional market of Solo City, Central Java, still sell cooking oil at an average price of Rp. 18,000 to Rp. 20,000 per liter.

Seen from Antara, at the Sidodadi Traditional Market in Solo, Friday, February 11, the price of bulk cooking oil is on average Rp. 20,000 per liter and packaging is between Rp. 18,000/liter to Rp. 20,000 per liter. The stock of goods in the market is relatively sufficient.

According to Sidiq, one of the traders at Pasar Sidodadi Solo, on average, traders in this market still use the old price, bulk cooking oil is sold for Rp. 20,000 per liter and packaging from Rp. 18,000 per liter to Rp. 20,000 per liter and the stock is still sufficient. .

"We continue to sell cooking oil at the old price because the price from suppliers is also high. If the normal price is only around Rp. 11,000 per liter to Rp. 14,000 per liter," he said.

However, the prices of some basic needs are still stable, such as sugar at Rp. 13,000 per kg, eggs at Rp. 20,000 per kg, and rice between Rp. 10,000/kg to Rp. 12,500/kg depending on the quality and stock is sufficient because supply to the market is smooth.

Prices of other commodities in the same market, such as chicken meat are stable at IDR 32,000 per kg, beef from IDR 105,000 per kg to IDR 120,000 per kg and the stock is also sufficient.

According to Atik (43), chicken meat traders in the same market, the price of chicken meat has returned to normal, only Rp. 32,000 per kg this week, and previously had jumped to Rp. 36,000 per kg.

According to him, the current demand for chicken meat in Solo has decreased slightly during school holidays due to a spike in COVID-19 cases, but not too significantly.

Meanwhile, the prices of vegetable commodities such as chilies were also stable at Rp. 35,000 per kg, curly chilies, shallots at Rp. 25,000 per kg, and garlic at Rp. 35,000 per kg.

Separately, Head of the Trade Development Division of the Surakarta City Trade Office Training Hartanto said his party together with the Food Task Force of the Surakarta Police had monitored the price and supply of cooking oil at the Legi Solo Traditional Market.

"The monitoring results show that a number of traders still offer cooking oil at prices above government regulations. The average price of bulk cooking oil is Rp. 19,000 per kg and packaging is Rp. 20,000 to Rp. 22,000 per liter," said Training.

His party together with the Police Food Task Force are also monitoring the stock of cooking oil in the market is running low. Merchants have placed orders to distributors but the goods have not been sent to the market so the stock is running low.

He said the Food Task Force of the Surakarta Police would soon hold a coordination meeting to monitor and trace the supply of cooking oil to markets or traders.

Meanwhile, the Government sets the Highest Retail Price (HET) for cooking oil according to the type which is effective from February 1, 2022. The price for bulk cooking oil is Rp. 11,500 per liter, simple packaged cooking oil is Rp. 13,500 per liter and premium packaged cooking oil is Rp. 14,000. per liter.
