Police Investigate A Bridal Group Pickup Accident In Trenggalek That Caused Many Injures

TRENGGALEK - East Java Police Traffic Unit Trenggalek is still investigating the case of a single accident that occurred in a bridal pickup truck that caused many injuries.

"Our members are still investigating this case. We have questioned a number of witnesses, from passengers to the pickup driver," said Head of Traffic at Trenggalek Police AKP Meita Anisa Saputra, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 10.

As a result of the accident, eight people are reportedly still undergoing intensive care at the dr. Soedomo Trenggalek.

On average, they suffered broken bones due to being crushed by the body of the pickup or being hit by other passengers.

Meita explained that the pick-up car numbered AG 8574 FB was identified as carrying 20 people. According to the testimony of the victim's witness and the driver, they were supposed to go to the wedding.

However, the vehicle skidded while crossing the extreme slippery road due to rain. The car skidded.

“The vehicle was traveling from south to north. At the time of going uphill it was not strong, then it moved backwards and hit a cliff and then rolled to the right," he explained.

After the incident, officers who received the report immediately went to the scene. Eight people were seriously injured and had to be treated.

Meanwhile, the other passengers are safe. According to existing regulations, Meita continued, goods vehicles such as pickups are prohibited from transporting people.

This is regulated in Article 137 paragraph (4) of the Road Traffic and Transportation Law.

"The location of the destination is also in Sidomulyo Village. The scene of this single accident is quite close to the location of the reception," concluded Meita.
