Wants To Put Out The Fire In The Residents' Houses, The Fire Engine Even Catches Fire, Two People Die

JAKARTA - Two people died after hitting a speeding fire engine. This incident occurred on Jalan Kroya – Nusawungu, Danasri Village, Cilacap Regency, Wednesday, February 9, at around 23.00 WIB. Apart from the fatalities, one fire engine caught fire due to dragging the victim's motorbike.

Based on information from the Cilacap Police, Thursday 10 February, the night before the accident, the fire engine numbered R 9599 BB received a call for help because a fire broke out in the Sumpiuh area. The firefighters drove from the direction of Kroya to Nusawungu (to the east), at around 22.30 WIB.

However, from the opposite direction, suddenly a Honda PCX motorbike with number plate R-2369-RR driven by the victim, Toni Daryono (61) and Buchori Muslim, a resident of Sibrama Village, Kemrajen District, Banyumas, drove up. Toni rides a motorbike, while Buchori sits in the back seat.

Suspected lack of concentration, the victim's motorcycle swerved so that it hit a fire engine. A strong collision was unavoidable, the motorbike and its two passengers got under the firefighter's car and was dragged 50 meters. At that moment, sparks appeared from the motorbike and spread to the bottom of the car.

Toni and Buchori died at the scene. Meanwhile, the firefighter driver on behalf of Sugeng, managed to save himself from the fire that burned his car.

After the fire was extinguished by other fire engines who arrived at the scene, the officers evacuated the bodies of Toni and Buchori. Both were taken to the Aghisna Kroya Hospital. Meanwhile, the firefighter driver received treatment for minor injuries and was taken to the Siaga Medika Banyumas hospital.
