The Reason Why The Odd-even Scheme Is Still Valid During PPKM Level 3 In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The odd-even scheme was decided to still be applied during the PPKM Level 3 period in Jakarta. Polda Metro Jaya said the reason behind the decision was because the mobility of the people was still relatively low.

"Odd-even is not too urgent for us to eliminate it," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Thursday, February 10.

The odd-even scheme, which is planned to be abolished, is feared to cause an increase in the number of public transportation users. Where, the increase will lead to the spread or transmission of COVID-19.

However, based on data and facts, continued Sambodo, the increase in public transport passengers has not occurred. Thus, the even-odd scheme is still in effect.

"Yesterday, the connection with odd-even needs to be removed because there are concerns that there will be an increase in public transport. But it turns out that in public transport passengers have decreased," he said.

In fact, this scheme can promote community mobility. Evidenced by the loose flow of traffic.

"In fact, it has been proven that even at the odd-even hours, it is able to reduce mobility in these areas," said Sambodo.

Currently, odd-even areas in Jakarta apply to 13 roads every Monday-Friday starting at 06.00-10.00 WIB and 16.00-20.00 WIB.

While odd-even does not apply on Saturday, Sunday, and National Holidays.

There are also 13 roads, namely Jalan Thamrin, Jalan Sudirman, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Jalan Panglima Polim, Jalan Fatmawati from Jalan Ketimun 1 Intersection to Jalan TB Simatupang Intersection.

Then Jalan Tomang Raya, Jalan Letjen S Parman from the intersection of Jalan Tomang Raya to Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan MT Haryono, Jalan HR Rasuna Said, and Jalan Panjaitan.

Next, Jalan Ahmad Yani starts at the Bekasi Timur Raya Intersection to the Perintis Kemerdekaan Road Intersection and Jalan Gunung Sahari.
