Industry Clusters And Dominant Families From Surging COVID-19 Cases In Karawang

JAKARTA - Industrial and family clusters contributed to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the Karawang Regency, West Java.

Spokesperson for the Karawang Regency COVID-19 Task Force, Fitra Hergyana, said Wednesday (9/2) that there were 245 more cases of COVID-19 in Karawang Regency, the largest addition in the last four months.

Fitra said that the additional cases came from industrial clusters and family clusters. Unfortunately, he did not explain the details of the data showing the contribution of the two clusters to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Karawang Regency.

According to him, currently there are 760 COVID-19 sufferers in Karawang Regency, with details of 691 people self-isolating at home and 69 others undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Most of the COVID-19 sufferers in Karawang Regency are self-isolating because they do not experience symptoms of illness or only experience mild symptoms.

"According to the instructions from the Minister of Health, now those who have mild symptoms of COVID-19 can self-isolate at home," he said.

Fitra said that the district government implemented level 2 restrictions on community activities to control the transmission of COVID-19 and asked residents to comply with these provisions.

In addition, he appealed to residents to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
