Sandiaga Uno Ensures His Ministry Is Ready To Collaborate To Make Santri Entrepreneurs

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno ensures that the students have the capacity to become entrepreneurs. The way is through innovation and adaptation in a digital approach so that it can encourage economic revival.

This was conveyed when the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy opened up opportunities for collaboration with the Nusa Santri Mitra Movement (Gema Santri Nusa) in an effort to empower and increase the capacity of students who are widely spread in various regions.

"We are ready to collaborate with Gema Santri Nusa," said Sandiaga as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 9.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is said to have various programs oriented towards restoring the Indonesian economy through the tourism and creative economy sectors (parekraf) and encouraging the use of digitalization.

Furthermore, he stated that he would reach out and meet the needs of the community through programs that were right on target, with the right benefits, and at the right time to help the socio-economic conditions of the community.

"This includes ensuring that resources are distributed fairly and equitably, firmness and speed of execution, as well as the implementation of strategic policy programs are very much needed to face various challenges ahead," Sandiaga said.

One of the mainstay programs offered by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is the Indonesian Digitalpreneur Santri, and this is considered to be comparable to the Insan Preneur program from Gema Santri Nusa.

"We can target the tourism aspect, especially in 5 super priority destinations and other areas," said Sandiaga.

Chairman of the National Gema Santri Nusa, KH. Akhmad Hambali, explained that one of the big ideas from his side was Insan Preneur. Namely an effort to initiate student entrepreneurship (entrepreneurship) which this year is targeted to reach 1,000 preneurs.

"Collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy can certainly support efforts to bring international class preneurs from students to the country's economy," he said.

Gema Santri Nusa is an organization that encourages pesantren alumni or santri as agents of change who have entrepreneurial characters, fostering the spirit of students to build the economy through various business models, especially micro, small and medium enterprises.
