SEMARANG - Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi confirmed that thousands of police were not deployed to the Bener Dam location in Wadas Village, Purworejo Regency.

"There are no thousands of police, only 250 personnel have been deployed to accompany 10 National Land Agency (BPN) teams," said the Kapolda in a press release quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 9.

The Kapolda together with the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo held a press conference at the Purworejo Police, which was attended by the Head of the Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) Central Java Dwi Purnama and the Regent of Purworejo Agus Bastian.

According to the Kapolda, the police accompanied BPN officers to measure the land belonging to Wadas Village residents who agreed that their land was being acquired for the construction of one of the national strategic projects.

The activity, he continued, was attended by land owners to ensure the measurement process.

"Because the area measured is approximately 114 ha, there are 10 BPN teams that carry out the measurements. Each team is accompanied by 20 personnel," he said.

The amount of strength, continued the Central Java Police Chief, is in accordance with the estimated threat that may occur in the field.

However, continued Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, during the measurement process, it turned out that the predicted threat did not occur and the measurement took place safely.

He said that the presence of the National Police in Wadas Village serves as a companion, facilitator, and dynamist of land measurement activities for residents who have received and those who have not.

Luthfi ensured that there were no raids, kidnappings, and residents who were suspected of being reported missing.

According to him, there was indeed a resident who was arrested for allegedly spreading photos containing hate narratives.

When he was arrested, he continued, the concerned family already knew and the police gave good treatment.

The Kapolda ensured that the facilitation provided by the Central Java Regional Police during the land measurement process in Wadas Village was in accordance with standard operating procedures.
