JAKARTA - One person with mental disorders (ODGJ) reportedly set fire to two motorbikes on Jalan Paus, RT 04/08, Pulogadung District, Rawamangun, East Jakarta. After various efforts were made with East Jakarta Social Affairs Sub-dept. officers, the perpetrators were arrested and tied up at Jalan Tenggiri, Rawamangun, East Jakarta.

For further treatment, the perpetrators were brought by P3S officers from the East Jakarta Social Sub-Department to the Duren Sawit Regional Special Hospital (RSKD).

East Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept P3S member Junaedi said the perpetrator had been taken to Duren Sawit Hospital.

"The perpetrators were arrested by Binmas and P3S officers from the Social Service. ODGJ had to be tied up because they were aggressive," he said.

The unidentified perpetrator is said to have carried a lighter in his trouser pocket.

"Only motorbikes were burned. Houses and shops are safe (not burned)," said the officer.

Confirmed separately, East Jakarta Social Sub-dept., Purwono, said that his party was only handling people with mental disorders or ODGJ.

"Whether it's in the realm of law or tipiring (minor crime) later, the police and Satpol PP will know. Our job is only to handle the person (ODGJ) so that it doesn't cause other impacts. So it was reached and taken to Duren Sawit Hospital," said Purwono when contacted by VOI, Tuesday 8 February.

Meanwhile, regarding the handling of ODGJ who were abandoned on the road, the Head of Sub-dept. said that his party would take the ODGJ to a special social institution for ODGJ.

"If they are still aggressive and neglected ODGJ, they are sent to the hospital to be treated and treated. Then they are referred to social institutions that handle ODGJ in Cipayung, Cengkareng and Daan Mogot. For the realm of neglected ODGJ, that is still the authority of the Social Service," he said. .
