Anticipating Omicron Surge, Ganjar Pranowo: We Prepare Like The Delta Scenario

SEMARANG - President Joko Widodo ordered all regional heads to prepare to anticipate the surge in the Omicron variant. Jokowi asked all hospitals to be prepared, including centralized isolation and also boost vaccination.

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo said, Central Java had prepared for the worst possible consequences of the surge in omicron. The scenario prepared is the same as when the delta variant attacked in 2021.

Centralized isolation places, Ganjar continued, asked to be prepared. All hospitals including human resources, medicines and oxygen have also been prepared.

"We have done all the preparations, while we continue to educate the public regarding health protocols. Just like the president's order earlier, the important thing is that the community now obeys the health procedures. At least masks are mandatory in every activity, such as in markets, schools, and others," explained Ganjar Pranowo from the PDIP Party.

Especially for schools, the figure who was echoed as a potential presidential candidate asked for strict supervision. He asked for reports to be given daily and must be detailed.

"In the event of a case, close the school. So not all in Central Java the same thing is applied, but case by case according to the conditions of each area," he said.

Ganjar said, although there was an increase, the cases of omicron in Central Java were still not too high compared to other provinces in Java-Bali. However, Ganjar asked everyone to remain vigilant.

"Because in Java, it seems that all big cities are starting to increase. In Central Java, only Semarang-Solo have increased. But overall, Central Java is still the lowest compared to West Java, East Java, DKI Jakarta and Bali. standby. God willing, we will prepare everything," he concluded.
