BANDARLAMPUNG - Abdul Moeloek Regional General Hospital (RSUDAM) is preparing telemedicine access for self-isolated patients to anticipate an increase in COVID-19 cases.

"This telemedicine is one of various strategies that we will use in anticipating the spread of COVID-19," said Director of the Abdul Moeloek Regional General Hospital (RSUDAM) dr Lukman Pura, in Bandarlampung, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5.

He said the telemedicine access would later be useful for monitoring and treatment for patients who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms who were undergoing self-isolation.

"So telemedicine is a communication channel so that we can provide condition information and therapeutic assistance for patients undergoing self-isolation," he said.

According to him, telemedicine is one of the surveillance and treatment strategies that is quite useful in anticipating an increase in COVID-19 cases due to the spread of the new Omicron variant of COVID-19.

"For residents who are currently self-isolating, they must meet a number of criteria, such as only patients with mild or asymptomatic symptoms with positive PCR results, meeting clinical requirements and housing requirements. The maximum age of the patient is 45 years, does not have cormobid, can access telemedicine, and committed to staying isoman before being allowed out," he said.

He continued, with these requirements the public can take advantage of the use of telemedicine to avoid physical contact when doing self-isolation.

"We hope that with the provision of access to telemedicine, patients who undergo self-isolation will have no difficulty getting access to health services," he said.
