Disturbing Fake And Different PCR Test Results, DPR Questions The Ministry Of Health's Supervision Of Laboratories

JAKARTA - Commission IX of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia highlighted the noise about the PCR test results which were allegedly fake and differed from one laboratory to another.

The health commission also questioned the performance of the Ministry of Health's supervision of laboratories that serve antigen tests and PCR tests to detect exposure to COVID-19.

"If there is a case like this, of course what we ask is the Ministry of Health's supervision of the existing laboratories. Is it true that the laboratory has worked professionally as mandated?," said DPR Commission IX member Saleh Partaonan Daulay, Friday, February 4.

The chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR then recounted one of the incidents experienced by senior economist Dradjad Wibowo. Where his best friend tested positive for COVID-19 in one laboratory, but later tested negative in a comparison test in another laboratory.

According to Saleh, such an incident does not need to happen if the Ministry of Health's supervision goes well. Because, he said, all laboratories collect independent fees from the public to carry out COVID-19 tests.

"This is important considering that the laboratory collects public fees. If it collects fees, then the community is harmed, of course this is a serious question that must be answered by the Ministry of Health," concluded Saleh.

Previously, a senior economist who is also the Chairman of the PAN Expert Board, Dradjad Wibowo, revealed that he carried out a PCR test because a colleague was declared COVID-19 on January 25, 2022 after a PCR test. Dradjad was informed by his friend because they had previously met two of them in a row.

Considering that his best friend is a person who is disciplined in health protocols, Dradjad asks him to retest at an old, well-known laboratory that is also his regular customer. The result of the PCR test was negative.

"I also had a PCR test and isolation, separated from my grandchildren and family. It turned out that I was negative because my best friend was negative. At first I was silent because I hoped that the scandal above was just a coincidence. However, after hearing that there was a similar incident, I felt obliged to speak up, " he said.
