Jokowi Orders Luhut And Airlangga To Evaluate PPKM Level

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered an evaluation of the implementation of the level of implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in the country. This order was conveyed to Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Airlangga Hartarto after the addition of 27,197 COVID-19 cases today.

For information, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan who is the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment is the coordinator of the implementation of PPKM on the island of Java and Bali. Meanwhile, Airlangga Hartarto, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy is the coordinator of PPKM outside Java-Bali Island.

In addition to giving orders to Luhut and Airlangga, Jokowi also asked regional heads from the ranks of governors to mayors to be assisted by the ranks of the regional government, TNI, and Polri to ensure the implementation of health protocols. This effort is important to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

"I ask the governors, regents, mayors and local government officials to be assisted by the TNI and Polri to ensure that the implementation of the procedure is carried out by the community," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

In addition, these regional heads were asked to hasten the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine in their area to prevent the main virus from the Omicron variant.

Before ending his statement, Jokowi asked the public to remain calm in the face of the Omicron variant or the other COVID-19 variants that will emerge. He asked the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols and reducing unnecessary activities and causing crowds.

Not only that, people who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine are asked to immediately do so at health facilities. Meanwhile, those who have received two doses of the vaccine should immediately receive a booster vaccine.

"I again remind the public to remain calm in the face of various new variants of COVID-19. Stay disciplined in carrying out the prokes and reduce unnecessary activities," he said.

"For those who have not been vaccinated, they should be vaccinated immediately. For those who have been fully vaccinated and it is time for a booster vaccine to be injected, a booster vaccine should be given immediately," concluded Jokowi.
